The current work on this junction is not a complete waste of money, only partly.
The safety will greatly be improved for locals such as myself to negotiate the roundabout.
However the resulting gridlock will hamper most journeys.
Pity a flyover was not agreed.
The root cause is the Merley turnoff further on and the transition from 4 to 2 lanes prior.
